"And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness... And God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him"

Genesis 1:26 tells us that God created man in His own image and likeness so this man can be His corporate expression.  God put this man in front of the tree of life for the purpose of man to have full dependence on God and to take Him as his life and life supply.    However, Satan, the enemy of God, came in to frustrate God's plan and damaged the man that was meant to contain God and to express God.  With his subtle ways, Satan tempted man by touching his soul (mind, emotion and will) by making him to doubt God, to dislike Him and to choose the forbidden tree.  (Genesis 3) It was not only the mere act of disobedience of man, but also the deadening result of the fall that frustrated God's plan.  Romans 5:12 says "Therefore just as through one man sin entered into the world, and through sin, death; and thus death passed on to all men because all have sinned." Because of the fall, man's entire being was deadened.  Instead of expressing God, he turned to express the enemy of God.  The spirit became deadened, the soul became corrupted and the body became flesh; Hence. the whole being of man is death and the enemy without became an adversary within man.

Indeed, there was a need for man to be saved.  God became a man and went through a process in order to save man. Christ's coming as life is to abolish death and to destroy satan, who has the might of death.  Moreover, He came to release and to dispense life to man so man can live by and in Christ's life and be brought back to his original purpose.  Today, when we receive His dispensing, we are enlivened.  Our spirit is regenerated and receives the life which is Christ, Himself (John 1:4)  He will not only be life in our spirit, but if we allow Him, He can also be life in our soul and eventually in our mortal bodies.

God's goal on His full salvation is to dispense His zoe life.  He not only judicially saved us through His death but He much more made us alive through His life (Romans 5:10).  He is the law of the spirit working inside of our being freeing us from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). He transferred us from death to life and we are now being organically saved everyday.

Our experience of Christ as life brings us back to God's original intention of man, that is, for man to express God.  Once our spirit is full of life, this life can overflow to our mind, emotion and will until what we think, who we love and what we do is one with Christ's mind, emotion and will. We will be fully expressing God when we are one with Him and when we take Him as our very life.
